  • Eat plenty of raw vegetables. green leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale and sweet potato leaves and yellow and orange fruits such as papayas, mangoes and yams are high in beta carotene and anti oxidants.

  • Apricots, carrots and cantaloupes are rich in Vitamins A and C which are important for a healthy, young looking skin.

  • Drink plenty of water. At least 8 - 10 glasses a day to keep the skin hydrated.

  • Avoid animal fats, fried food and cooked vegetable oils.

  • Avoid processed sugar and other junk food.

  • Avoid caffeine containing drinks and alcohol in excess.

  • Avoid smoking and second hand smoke. Nicotine constricts blood vessels including capillaries on the surface of the skin. This results in a depletion of nutrients and oxygen to the skin which damages the skin cells leading to dry skin with fine lines and wrinkles.
